Five Mango Recipe Ideas for your Christmas Lunch

Five Mango Recipe Ideas for your Christmas Lunch
on 20 December 2019 in Food & Drinks

Summertime is for soaking up the sun, splashing in the pool, barbecues with friends and family, and eating juicy seasonal fruits. One seasonal Summer fruit that we get particularly excited about are mangoes, so we’ve compiled our top five Bowen mango recipes for you, just in time in Christmas.

Bowen is home to the Mango, so make sure you support local and grab some home-grown goodies from the likes of Marto’s Mangoes and Manbulloo – Australia’s largest grower of premium Kensington Pride mangoes, also known as the ‘Bowen Mango’.

Kensington Pride mangoes have a uniquely fragrant and sweet flavour with soft, fibreless flesh. They have a yellow skin, often with a pink or red ‘blush’ colour that results from sun exposure. Whilst most still prefer to eat Kensington Pride mangoes freshly sliced, they also make a great addition to smoothies, desserts or even summer salads.

The R2E2 mangoes are a cocktail of mild, sweet and spicy flavours. Always blushing, this intriguing mid-season mango turns a shade of ravishing red. Its firm, non-fibrous flesh is a golden yellow syrup on the senses.

So whether you like mangoes as the hero ingredient of your dessert, or you prefer mangoes in the form of a cocktail, these recipes will impress not only you but your guests too – we’ve even sourced a recipe that the kids will approve of.
